New report from the Wales Centre for Health. Packed full of charts and statistics relating to alcohol consumption in Wales and the effects of this on health and crime. The trend in alcohol related hospital admission rates is upwards. Already, this accounts for 1.5% of all hospital admissions in Wales. In 2007-08, around 1,600 young people aged under 19 were referred for treatment of alcohol misuse.

Bioethical database
June 13, 2009BELIT is a free online database to help you find citations for ethical topics in healthcare. It is a joint effort between databases held in German, France and the United States. The database lists citations to articles, newspapers, books, legal documents and grey literature. It will not lead you to the full-text, however it will give you full citations to search in Voyager.
New A-Z list of journals
June 12, 2009The Library has a new page for the A-Z list of journals - The Library has a new page for the A-Z list of journals. You can use this to get to a journal title we subscribe to quickly. There is a tab entitled Category that you can browse to find journals on a certain topic. Start with the general Health Science category, and you can then narrow it down by sub-topics (ie Gastroenterology).
Swansea area NHS Trust Library agreement
June 2, 2009The reciprocal agreement between Swansea University and the Swansea ABM University Trust Libraries will come to an end in July. If you have any books checked out from these libraries, please return them before the agreement’s end. A hold will be put on your University Library account after July, if your books have not been returned.
You may continue using the libraries on a reference-only basis.
